You Can Do It.
"A head full of fears has no space for dreams."
Are you afraid to try new things?
Are you afraid of failure?
Are you afraid of putting yourself out there because you think people might ‘discover’ that you’re actually not as smart as they think?
Or that you’re not as talented as you should be?
What if I told you that you didn’t have to be afraid of tests
Or of creating a product
Or of creating a webinar
Or going to an audition
We don’t have to be afraid
Because these thing don’t define us
They can’t define our intelligence
As long as we have the correct mindset.
Yes, mindset is everything.
In her brilliant research, Carol Dweck tells us about the perils of a ‘fixed’ mindset.
In a fixed mindset, people believe their basic qualities, like their intelligence or talent, are simply fixed traits.
This means that they believe that tests and products show who they really are – and exposes their qualities that are unchangeable. Those with a fixed mindset will often stop from chasing their dreams.
The risk of being exposed or deemed a failure is much to high.
They also believe that talent alone creates success—without effort.
In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work—brains and talent are just the starting point. This means that no matter how well we do in tests, exams, in our creations or products, or in our athletic achievements – these things do not define us…
Because we can always improve… it’s scientifically proven!
Failures do not make ‘us’ a failure – and that is the essential difference.
With a ‘growth’ mindset, we can embrace challenges,
knowing it doesn’t make us less of a person,
Knowing that failures are just steps along the way in our success
That any talent can be developed with effort and persistence
That we can be whoever and whatever we want to be,
As long as we TRY.
With a growth mindset, our minds can be free of fear,
Giving us space for our dreams,
Knowing each dream is actually, scientifically achievable, as long as we are willing work hard.
You can do it.
