Step out, Reach out, Speak out.
“I went for years without finishing anything. Because of course, when you finish something you can be judged.” Erica Jong
You have thought of something amazing.
It bounces around your mind.
Excitement and energy pulsates through you.
You have an incredible idea. Something that will probably work.
Nobody has thought of it.
It’s truly amazing.
You can’t hold your excitement any longer and you need to tell someone.
When the conversation begins, you find it difficult to express clearly what you really mean.
It doesn’t sound as good coming out of your mouth compared to what yo’ve been thinking about in your head.
You become self conscious and begin to downplay your idea.
The other party comes in with some conflicting data.
You suddenly feel stupid.
So you close down.
“I’m never going to do that again.”
“I should of never have got so excited about that idea.”
“I’m going to be more private in the future.”
If only individuals had had the courage to share their genius with the world.
Our lives would be so much easier.
There would be less suffering.
And of course there would be happier people.
Unfortunately most people choose the grandstand rather than the playing field.
Because of the fear of defeat and judgement, it robs them of the potential experience of victory.
Although it is safer in the grandstands, you always wonder what life would be like in the actual game.
Bound by many experiences in the past, you have learnt to lay low.
Don’t stand out.
You’ll get hurt.
it’s painful out there.
Let me get straight to the point.
Is this really the life that you were born to live?
Are you telling me this has been the sum total of your ambitions? To sit out on the greatest adventure of life?
If this is your experience it cannot be any longer.
You deserve better.
The human spirit is stronger than this.
The world needs you.
Please don’t hold back your genius from the world anymore.
Step out and ship that idea.
Sure you’ll be judged, but you’ll be yourself as well.
You’ll be exposed, that’s exactly what you need.
Step out, reach out, speak out.
Don’t be held back.
Put on the jersey and step out onto the playing field.
Experience everything that life has to offer.
Congratulations, you’re officially alive.
