Face Your Dreams.
“All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” Walt Disney
We have all been encouraged at some point to face our fears.
I feel however that this can be at times counter intuitive to self development.
There is something far more threatening to our egos. Something that takes significant personal courage to pursue.
I am talking about facing your dreams.
Facing your dreams, and having the courage to pursue them.
At any cost.
You see its quite easy to dream.
But its a whole other story to pursue them.
The price is too high for many people.
They settle for suburban mediocrity.
Their dreams are bound up in imaginary possibilities.
Never to escape as they lack the personal capacity for them to do so.
When was the last time that you really asked yourself the hard question regarding your progress towards your life dreams?
What in your life needs to change today, tomorrow, next week, next month and next year?
I will guarantee you this, your dreams will cost you.
To what extent you will never know until you take the journey.
Some of you it could cost you significantly, the price could be quite high.
While you’re calculating the personal cost involved ask yourself the critical question.
What have I got to lose?
I am talking about your biggest dreams here. The things that give you every source of meaning in your life.
The things that light up your world.
These are worth the price you’ll pay for them.
So take aim, set sail and embark on the adventure.
The path may not be laid out clearly, it never really is.
Your path is your own to walk, everyone’s will look different.
The most profound thing that I’ve discovered from my own journey is we expect the personal significance to come from the adventure itself.
Quite the opposite really, you’ll actually discover something much closer to home…
You’ll actually discover yourself.
That my friend, takes courage.
