Ingredients:
- 1 cup rolled oats
- ½ cup almond butter (check the label — it should say "almonds" and nothing else!)
- ½ cup pitted Medjool dates (about 6-8 dates)
- 2 tablespoons ground flaxseed
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 pinch black pepper (helps your body absorb the turmeric)
- ¼ cup dark chocolate chips (70%+ cacao)
- 1-2 tablespoons warm water (only if needed)
Method:
- Blend the dates in a food processor until they form a sticky paste (add a tablespoon of warm water if they're not breaking down easily).
- Combine the oats, flaxseed, turmeric, cinnamon, and black pepper in a large bowl and mix well.
- Add the almond butter and date paste and stir until everything is combined — it should be sticky enough to hold together.
- Fold in the dark chocolate chips.
- Pop the mixture in the fridge for 15-20 minutes to firm up (this makes rolling much easier).
- Roll into roughly 14-16 small balls using slightly damp hands.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
