Live a Life You Are Proud of.
"I hope you live a life you are proud of. If you find that you are not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again."
F. Scott Fitzgerald
So what do you do if you are not living the life of your dreams?
How do you change?
I can only talk from experience, but I know exactly what it is like to not live the life that you had always wanted to live.
I have found that it doesn’t happen quickly.
Quite slowly actually.
Through a series of choices, most of them minor, you end up on a path that you had never intended to go down.
Hoping things change but never taking the action to do anything about it, you continue on that path.
Ultimately you come to the realization that you are far from where you had set out in the first place, it becomes overwhelming to to come up with any plans to get you back on track.
Your mind enters then into survival mode.
Just get through the day, get me in front of the TV and I can zone out to the monotony of my painful life.
Creativity dries up.
You lose vision.
This is why it takes tremendous strength of will to actually start all over again.
At this point people start to ask many questions…
Is is worth it? Is it worth the risk? Am I able to actually do it?
Talking themselves out of taking any serious level of action, they stay lost.
It’s tragic not because the effort and is significant, it’s what is at stake that is the real traegdy.
For me, this invaluable gift we all have to experience for such a short time, is worth every bit of risk and strength it requires to get back on course again.
We have one game token to use.
Then what do we really have to lose then?
I remember thinking this a through when I was working as an underground coal geologist.
I wasn’t happy… But I ticked many boxes that society would say I was doing well for myself.
Using my expensive qualifications.
Despite this list, I still wasn’t happy.
So I changed. I did what it took. I paid the price.
Here am I talking to you about it and I’m inspiring people all around the world to live and be fee.
I hope this has inspired you today, if it has, let me know in the comments below!
