Learn to Start Over
“Sometimes the hardest part isn’t letting go but rather learning to start over.” Nicole Sobon, Program 13
Did you know something interesting? We are defined by very particular things in life.
With the people I work with one thing that I learn very quickly is how much our past defines us.
But when you dig a little deeper with people, its’s often not the past, it’s how they remember the past.
It’s their own version of the past.
The ironic thing is that it’s actually not the past at all.
It’s the past according to them. Their own filter. The way they saw things.
We all do it.
All of us.
I would almost gurantee you that version of the past includes any of the following;
Lack of confidence.
Messing it up, rather than doing something well.
Distorted self image.
Psychologists have studied the effects of the way we see ourselves in the past.
It’s directly correlated to confidence.
You have an opportunity right now to look again.
To see the positive.
To throw out what you need to.
To treasure what will take you forward.
It’s through this ‘spring clean’ of your mind that you’ll find that extra creativity.
That edge of productivity that you need to launch that project.
The extra 5% that will make you successful.
Be vigilant. Leave no stone unturned.
Finally you’ll have the space to dream, believe, create and succeed.
By looking back with fresh eyes, you’ll look forward with new vision.
You may not be able to let it go, but you can learn to start over.
Starting over will look different to all of you. We all have our own journey to walk in this area.
Those of you who are brave enough to walk it however, will reap the rewards indefinitely.
Now go and change your life. “Cherish your visions and your dreams as they are the children of your soul; the blue prints of your ultimate achievements.” -Napoleon Hill
