Hold Your Ground.

'The Daily Dose' By Matt Potts

"The tallest oak in the forest was once just a little nut that held its ground."

If you’re like me then you’ve probably done this…

You’ve looked at others that you admire,

Or are jealous of,

Or aspire to be like,

And you’ve thought to yourself ‘I’m not like them’… ‘They’re special’…

‘I couldn’t achieve their success even if I tried’…

‘They’re probably better than me’

I know I’ve done it.

And I’ve let thoughts like that make me doubt myself…

To doubt my abilities…

To doubt my calling…

In moments like these I wish I had the knowledge that I have now,

The knowledge that is echoed in the quote above:

“The tallest oak in the forest was just a little nut that held its ground”…

Yes, it is the most likely scenario that those you admire, aspire to be like, or are the receivers of your jealousy, are those ‘little nuts’ that simply held their ground.

They are those who tenaciously held onto their dreams despite opposition

They are those who said ‘next!’ when they were rejected

They are those who understood their calling and wouldn’t settle for anything less.

And do you know what the best part of all of this is?

You can be the ‘tallest oak’ too

If you are first willing to be the ‘little nut’…

The ‘little nut’ in the forest that persisted.

It is your persistence, your attitude, and your resilience that will be the key to your success…

You just wait and see the heights you will reach…

But in the meantime – Hold your ground.
