Follow Your Heart.

'The Daily Dose' By Matt Potts

“Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith. I’m convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.” Steve Jobs

What an incredible quote about following your heart.

I find it so interesting that people are often so confused as to what to do with their lives.

It’s sort of like not knowing where you are in your own house.

How did you get lost in the first place?

Like how in the external world we have navigation systems that pinpoint our exact location,

Likewise in the internal world of our souls, we have the best internal “GPS” system ever invented.

Our hearts.

I think the confusion arises not so much in listening clearly to our hearts, but in ignoring what it has been saying all along.

I have worked out that there are at least 5 reasons why we could be ignoring our hearts.

1. Fear.

2. Lack of belief.

3. Denial.

4. Fixed mindsets.

5. Previous failure.

There are many more, but for me these are the main reasons why at times we struggle to hear from what our heart is clearly saying. The way that we remove these blockages in our lives varies from person to person and situation to situation.

The key is realising that they exist and working on them when they are recognised.

It’s easier than you think to follow your heart, to live according to who you really are.

Through irritation and a general lack of feeling settled, your heart will continually guide you.

As Steve said so beautifully, never let yourself settle for anything less.

Keep going.

You are on the most worthwhile journey you’ll ever take.

You’ll know without doubt when you’ve found what you’ve been called to do all along.

It’s in that very special place where you’ll become your idealised self.

The person worthy of your destiny.
